What is an Alzheimer Café?

Alzheimer Café Isle of Wight welcomes anyone affected by a dementia including individuals before and after receiving a diagnosis, families, carers, and healthcare professionals to join us for informal education about dementia, guidance and signposting to other services.

Our cafés offer a friendly and welcoming environment where people can chat, share stories, make friends, and relax knowing everyone there is 'in the same boat.'

What is the Parklands Dementia Resource Centre?

Alzheimer Cafés on the Isle of Wight have been a listening ear for people living with a dementia, their families, friends and carers since we first opened our doors in 2009. The Isle of Wight Dementia Strategy, published in 2022, was the culmination of what you told us was needed for people to live well with a dementia in our wonderful Island community.

Parklands Dementia Resource Centre delivers just that; a place where smiling faces will greet you and where information can be found and shared, a space for living and laughing and somewhere everyone will feel safe and find respite for a while, 5 days a week. Come and experience our Community Café, have your hair done or a relaxing massage but most of all come and be yourself - we'll all look forward to seeing you here.

Donate to Alzheimer Café Isle of Wight

Our charity can only continue to grow and support more people with dementia, their families and carers, if we have the funding to do so. We work round the clock to raise money for the Alzheimer Café IW but we could always do with some extra help!
